Municipal Valuation Services is a Connecticut-based revaluation company headquartered in Fairfield. We currently have several Data Collector, Property Inspector positions available for municipal-wide real estate valuation contracts within the state. Responsibilities include interfacing with property owners, measuring and inspecting exterior & interior of residential and commercial properties and verifying information contained in the Assessor's records.

Applicant must be an outgoing, team player who enjoys working independently, exhibits effective verbal communication skills, ability to efficiently interface with the public, strong attention to detail, self-discipline, and willingness to learn. Applicant must have the ability to work either indoors in an office environment (when needed) or outdoors in all weather conditions. Reliable transportation is required with the ability and willingness to travel to various municipalities throughout Connecticut.

As a data collector, you would be responsible for inspecting, verifying, measuring, and recording details of commercial and residential properties as required for property valuations. Real Estate, home inspection or contracting experience is strongly preferred. All necessary mass appraisal training will be provided.

We are currently accepting applications for full-time employment consisting of a 40-hour work week Monday thru Friday. Hours may include some Saturdays and/or weekdays between 5pm and 7pm. All positions open until filled.

Candidate must be 18 years or older, contain reliable transportation and be willing to work out in the elements.

Physical Requirements include the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, stretch, kneel, and climb stairs as required during property inspections. As well as the ability to carry 5-10 lbs. of equipment throughout the workday as required in the field. Must be comfortable working outdoors for extended periods of time, in all seasons and weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

- Collect and record data related to the Assessor's records, including measurements, and interior & exterior specifications of commercial and residential properties.

- Read and interpret Property/Field Cards and other documents to accurately collect data.

- Collaborate with data collection, data entry, and management teams to ensure accurate and timely data collection.

- Maintain organized records of collected data for future reference and analysis.

- Identify and report any discrepancies or issues in the collected data.

All necessary mass appraisal training will be provided

Requirements:

- 18 years or older.

- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transpiration.

- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, stretch, kneel, and climb stairs as required during property inspections.

- Ability to carry 5-10 lbs. of equipment throughout the workday.

- Must be comfortable working outdoors for extended periods of time, in all seasons and weather conditions.

- Knowledge of real estate, home inspections, architecture adjacent, or contracting experience.

This position requires a strong understanding of data collection methods, as well as the ability to read and interpret related documents. The successful candidate(s) will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate data collection for revaluation projects throughout Connecticut municipalities.
